The Representation of the European Commission in Slovenia has selected six information points within the Europe Direct network in Slovenia for the period 2021-2025. the new network of six European Union information points, Europe Direct, will be operating in Slovenia, namely in Celje, Maribor, Koper, Novo mesto, Hrastnik and Murska sobota.
Celje Youth Center - Information Point Europe Direct Savinjska was thus selected for the fourth time in the European Commission's tender for the new programming period 2021-2025. European Union Information Points Europe Direct provide information on the European Union at regional and local level, and our task is also to strengthen dialogue with citizens on current European issues.
The Europe Direct network is one of the European Commission's main tools for bringing the EU institutions and policies closer to the people around them. The information points provide information, publications and other material on EU action, institutions, policies, programs and initiatives, and in particular on their impact on everyday life. The information points also have the task of promoting active European citizenship and contributing to the development of the European public sphere. In cooperation with the Representations of the European Commission in the Member States, the Information Points encourage discussions on European issues by organizing conferences, workshops, presentations and other events. We also ensure that local stakeholders and the media are well informed about European issues.
